They Are Who We Think They Are
SCOTUS and norms aren't going to save us. We're going to save ourselves.
Another week, another SCOTUS disappointment. They are exactly who we think they are and anyone who tries to say otherwise is lost in fanciful thinking, hopelessly naïve, or both.
The SCOTUS justices seem to be detached from reality as if they are merely engaging in an academic and philosophical debate, but at least they are telling us who they are so we act accordingly. Their view is the same as many in Washington who think things are more or less fine, these kinds of power fluctuations are normal, and everything will work out in the end.
There are already some saying, “Well, it’s not that bad…” and maybe there is some room for nuanced hope but I’m not feeling it and I sure don’t have time to go searching for it.
My hope is in November. My hope is in the election. My hope is in the VOTERS.
I know these decisions are frustrating and demoralizing. It’s okay to admit it when we’re upset! These are very trying times!
When you’re ready, get up, dust yourself off, and keep doing what you’ve been doing. We’re going to win. I’m worried and anxious just like you, but I’m hopeful also. The more the D.C. elites miss the mark on {gestures broadly to include everything} the easier it is for us to see the magnitude and criticality of the work we must to do and then we have to do it. Talk to your friends, register new voters, be ready to canvas, make sure everyone knows where and how to vote; lather, rinse, repeat, and Keep Moving Forward!
If you are in a Super Tuesday state, vote 💙.
Joe Biden speaks softly but carries a big stick—his ethics which is totally lacking in the racist, lying treasonous bully who wants to be president so he can pardon himself.
Hi. New subscriber here. You're damned right we're going to win!! Let's block out all of the BS and get after it!!
